Missional churches and church planting present unique challenges and opportunities with their funding needs. Does your fundraising model align with the mission? We’ll explore the methods and models we can approach funding and fund raising with, and how they can support the mission of the church or distract from it. We’ll explore personal support raising, the missionary model, and how a crowd-sourced approach to funding the mission can fuel church plants and missions. We’ll also discuss bi-vocational planting models and best practices, and how tithe based or central based funding models affect the church plant.
You will come away with a better understanding of the importance of aligning your funding model with, and furthering your mission.
Tom Mauriello is Executive Director at Reliant. He is passionate about leading the organization and office team to accomplish their mission – mobilizing missionaries for the great commission. As Executive Director he also act as a bridge between the Board of Directors’ direction and governance and management providing ongoing day-to-day leadership. He loves being able to support and come under the mission of so many amazing churches, missionaries and ministries doing Kingdom work across the world. His heart is that his team can put together systems, technology and services that empower and equip local churches and expressions of the Gospel.
JR Woodward has been passionately planting churches on the East and West Coast that value tight-knit community, life-forming discipleship, locally-rooted presence and boundary-crossing mission for over 25 years. He is the author of Creating a Missional Culture (IVP, 2012) and co-author of The Church as Movement (IVP, 2016). He co-founded the Missio Alliance and currently serves as the National Director for the V3 Church Planting Movement. He is the co-founder of the Praxis Gathering and writes for numerous websites and journals. He has a Masters of Arts in Global Leadership from Fuller and is working on his PhD at the University of Manchester (UK).
Lori M. Ruffin is an upbeat strategic thinker. Fueled by a passion to help individuals and organizations fulfill their God-given purpose, she is the Operations Manager for the V3 Movement and the Founder of The COO Team, a virtual operations agency for nonprofits and small businesses. She enjoys helping others cultivate their relationship with God, songwriting and singing. She lives in Richmond, Va., with her husband and daughter.
