Carl Amouzou There is a scene in Mark’s gospel, where a father, who is desperate to see his son healed, says to Jesus, “I believe; help my unbelief!” This proclamation has been at the center of my faith journey, paradoxically following Jesus in belief and unbelief. 

I am a spiritual nomad, someone who was open to the possibility of God, but closed off to the ways that God had been presented to me.

FōS is a community cultivating the kind of space that is helping other spiritual nomads, who themselves of the fringes of the contemporary church, rediscover their faith.

Rev. Becci Curtis-Lillie lives in Tacoma, Washington with her husband. She is Co-Planter and Co-Pastor of Gather|Tacoma, with her dear friend, Rev. Taeler Morgan. When Becci isn't working with Gather, she enjoys getting out on the water to fly fish with her husband as much as possible, and enjoying the beautiful Pacific Northwest. 

Rev. Taeler Morgan lives in Tacoma, WA with her husband and daughter. She is Co-planter and co-pastor of Gather | Tacoma, with her good friend, Rev. Becci Curtis-Lillie.

Mike Pumphrey is a church planter, strategist, coach, and cultural architect who works with existing churches and church planters, helping them reimagine what the church can look like in our day. He has worked as a Strategist with the Bridge Network of Churches and currently works with V3 Coordinating a Church Planting Movement within the State of Virginia. Passionate about the potential for movement within the Church, he is constantly looking at unleashing the Imago Dei that resides within all humanity. This has become the constant pulse of Awaken Church, which he planted in the Virginia Beach (Hampton Roads) area, as they have seen the expression of the church extend from the Neighborhood to Navy Ships.

Deb Sternke lives in the Indianapolis area where she is helping to plant a church ( and train leaders to grow Jesus-shaped cultures ( She is mom to four, wife to Ben and has a passion for women to be equipped and empowered for the work on the Kingdom.

Ben Sternke Ben is a church planter who also trains, coaches and consults with leaders to help them build Jesus-shaped cultures in their churches, communities, homes, and businesses using simple, reproducible tools that are proven, practical, and powerful. He does this locally through a church he is planting in Indianapolis called The Table, and more widely through an organization he co-founded called Gravity Leadership. He also writes at He lives in the Indianapolis area with his wife and kids.

Kevin Sweeney Kevin Sweeney is a pastor of Imagine—an urban church in Honolulu that is truly welcoming of all people, sees imagination as the key to the future, chooses authenticity over performance, substance over hype, and quality over quantity. He holds a Masters Degrees in Theology and Intercultural Studies. Kevin is fascinated with and committed to creating environments for creativity, cultural innovation, social healing, communal cohesiveness, and personal transformation.

Len Tang was the lead planter at Cedar Creek Church in Sherwood, Oregon from 2003-2014. He is trying to learn from his mistakes and is now planting a second church, Missio Community Church in Pasadena, CA. Len also serves as the Director of the Church Planting Program at Fuller Theological Seminary ( He is married to Amy and they have three boys.

Dan White Jr. is the leader of a developing network of communities in the urban neighborhoods of Syracuse, NY. Together our communities are multiplying into diverse neighborhoods learning to serve, listen and extend the all-consuming love of Jesus. He serves V3 as a coach/consultant with the V3 Missional Movement. Personal obsessions include reading theological works, songwriting, buffalo wings, the Dallas Cowboys, U2, dinner-time with my family and good conversations. 

JR Woodward is a church planter, activist, missiologist and author of Creating a Missional Culture (IVP, 2012) and co-author of The Church as Movement (IVP, 2016). He’s planted churches on the East and West Coasts and he co-founded Kairos Los Angeles, the Ecclesia Network, the Solis Foundation and Missio Alliance. He currently serves as the National Director for the V3 Church Planting Movement. He serves locally at Adullam in Seattle, Washington and is pursuing a PhD at the University of Manchester (UK). He loves to surf, travel, read, skateboard and meet new people. He enjoys photography and film and tries to attend the Sundance Festival whenever he can. 

Dr. Karen Wilk is a National Team Member of Forge Canada’s Missional Training Network, and a Missional Leader Developer for the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Karen is the Lead Catalyser of Neighbourhood Life/NEW (Neighbourhood Engagement Workers) Community in Alberta, where she actively engages church leadership in moving their congregations out into neighborhoods. She has been a pastor in Edmonton for almost 28 years and completed a Doctorate in Missional Leadership at Northern Seminary in Chicago.
