Some Breaking V3 News

This coming week we are starting our G8 Church Planters Learning Cohorts. We are beta testing this year and are excited about this approach to training. We have 15 churches participating in our training from Miami, to Hononlulu, from Syracuse, NY to Richmond, CA, from Washington DC to many parts of Virginia.
The V3 Learning Cohort (LC) is a two-year strategic training track for planters as they journey through the formative phases of planting churches and starting movements.
This training is holistic, community-oriented, peer-based, value-centerd, process-oriented, systemic, sustainable, transferable and conducive to movement.
The G8 Training Modules are framed around eight themes that guide the training of church planters. The training experience exposes planters to essential processes, tools and practices of church planting from a distinctly movemental approach. Each of the G8 categories is generic enough to incorporate a broad range of topics, yet specific enough to focus the learning experience. The G8 training consists of one-month modules, each with their own theme.
The G8 modules are as follows:
God – Establishing a theological grounding for mission, based on the character of a triune missionary God.
Gospel – Designing a contextual way to share a robust (individual, corporate, cosmic) gospel with people of peace and their oikos.
Grid – Developing a cultural web for the church and conducting a cultural exegesis of the neighborhood and city, identifying connection points to discern where to connect and challenge the context.
Group – Building solid relationships and understanding the dynamics related to teams, leadership and gatherings.
Growth – Cultivating a life-giving spirituality, giving attention to the interior life as well as developmental pathways for maturity and sustainability.
Governance – Approaching leadership and structure for movement, in conjunction with personal, neighborhood and city transformation.
Green – Developing a financial, vocational and spiritual sustainability for kingdom ventures.
Generate – Designing efforts towards reproduction, multiplication and movement.
I trust that gives you a taste of what this training is about.  We will be talking more about this in the future.
